The Setup

 

Tap on whatever emotion is the most problematic.

Be as specific as possible.

Take a SUDS Level: Subjective Units of Distress

Zero: Feeling neutral, calm and unaffected

Ten: Feeling highest amount of distress

 

The First Setup and First Sequence

 

Tap the Karate Chop point or rub the Sore Spot while you repeat three times:

“Even though I have this __________ … I completely accept myself.

 

Tap 7 to 10 times on each point.

While tapping, repeat the Reminder Phrase: “This (problem/feeling)”

C = Crown

EB = Eyebrow beginning

SE = Side of the Eye

UE = Under the Eye

UN = Under the Nose

Ch = Between Lower Lip & Chin

CB = Collarbone beginning

UA = Under the Arm

Th = Thumbnail corner (can omit)

IF = Index Fingernail corner (can omit)

MF = Middle Fingernail corner (can omit)

LF = Little Fingernail corner (can omit)

KC = Karate Chop

 

Repeat points.

Take another SUDS Level.

 

The Second Setup and Second Sequence

 

Tap the Karate Chop point or rub the Sore Spot while you repeat three times:

“Even though I still have this _________… I completely accept myself.”

 

Tap 7 to 10 times on each point.

While tapping, repeat the Remainder Phrase: “Remaining (problem/feeling)”

C = Crown

EB = Eyebrow beginning

SE = Side of the Eye

UE = Under the Eye

UN = Under the Nose

Ch = Between Lower Lip & Chin

CB = Collarbone beginning

UA = Under the Arm

Th = Thumbnail corner (can omit)

IF = Index Fingernail corner (can omit)

MF = Middle Fingernail corner (can omit)

LF = Little Fingernail corner (can omit)

KC = Karate Chop

 

Repeat points.

Take another SUDS Level. 

Repeat the sequence until feeling is cleared and SUDS is at zero.

Repeat the sequence from the beginning for other feelings.

Run a short mental movie on the problem and/or situation while tapping.

Notice additional harmful emotions.

Tap on additional emotions.

 

Set-Up Versions

 

“Even though I have (this problem/feeling)...

... I deeply and completely accept myself.”

... I deeply and completely love & accept myself.”

... I completely forgive and accept myself.”

... I completely forgive and free myself.”

End all tapping with healthy choices.
