Excess Weight Gain and Eating Disorders

 

Causes for excess weight gain and eating disorders are varied and influenced by a number of factors that all need to be addressed for successful change. Most people begin their efforts to reduce their weight by dieting and depriving themselves of food. This starts a life-long battle of weight loss and weight gain. The body often responds very efficiently and the metabolic rate is lowered. When normal eating resumes, the body often favors excess fat storage. 

 

In addition, unhealthy perceptions and unresolved hurtful emotions can lead to excessive stress, anxiety, self-criticism, frustration and depression. To avoid discomfort, a person may find themselves eating, whether hungry or not. Dieting and food deprivation, increased desire to overeat or snack and a feeling of loss of control, can all contribute to an increasing problem with weight. This can lead to a fear of fatness and for some people to develop bulimia or anorexia.

 

Hypnosis is a safe process that helps a person take back control of themselves. It is a natural, noninvasive method for creating inner health. This frees a person to take back healthy control of their eating patterns, their weight, and live a healthy balanced and enjoyable lifestyle.

 

Please note: Physical disorders often have a major influence on the metabolic and other organ systems that effect body weight. In such cases, it is important to first address the root cause of the disorder as well as emotional health, eating patterns and exercise.

 

Your Weight Management Sessions......

For weight management, I offer an average of 5 to 7 sessions. This includes finding resolution for emotional eating as well as establishing healthy eating patterns and routine exercise. Generally, we will do 3 to 4 hypnosis healing sessions to resolve and release perceptions and emotions causing you to have weight difficulties. For complex and more involved issues, the number of sessions may extend beyond 4 sessions. This we can determine as we progress in your healing needs. Then as needed, we will do another 2 to 3 sessions for healthier eating patterns, portions sizes and exercise needs. Sessions are best 5 to 7 days apart until we get to the behavior modification sessions that can be several weeks apart.

On a Final Note

 

Exercise for Physical Health and Fitness 

Our body still holds a genetic memory for self-preservation. Inactivity signals ill health and a need to store fat for emergency. Routine exercise signals your body that you are well and healthy. You will then find that the fat you let go of with a routine activity is fat you let go of completely. I encourage you to begin a consistent 30 minutes a day, exercise and fitness routine that is geared to your needs and desires. During the first 20 minutes of activity, your body works off sugars. After 20 minutes, your body begins to work off unhealthy visceral fat. You will find yourself enjoying an increase level of energy and an increase level of your metabolism rate.  You will also decrease your cortisol levels, which are stress hormones that promote unhealthy fat storage.

 

Create a Daily Eating Program and Stick to it

A desire to eat continually and at different hours of the day is a developed habit. This conditioned habit was created and established over time, and can be broken. I will help you to establish a new and healthier pattern of eating. It takes 2 to 3 weeks for you to grow comfortable with your new eating routine, and then about 6 to 10 weeks to solidify a new healthy pattern of eating into your mind. 

 

I suggest building a routine of eating 3x to 5x a day, at approximately the same time each day. This sends your body the important message, that it will not be deprived or starved. You will naturally stabilize your metabolism and restore your normal biological rhythms.

 

Morning is the Single Most Important Time of the Day to Eat

Replace the term ‘meals’ with the idea of ‘times of eating’ to think smaller portions. In the morning eat a comfortably satisfying portion of fresh clean healthy food to activate your metabolism. Eat your biggest portion mid-day. Eat your smallest portion at the end of the day, so that the body burns excess fat while you sleep. If you find you are not consuming enough calories, establish a time where you eat another 1 to 2x per day.

 

Stop Eating about 4 Hours before you go to Sleep at Night

Excess fat reduction and stomach shrinking happens best while sleeping. Replace evening thoughts of hunger with thoughts of all the times you’ll be eating tomorrow and the next day and the next day and the next day.

So how do we know what to eat and for what purpose? Well, it seems that our natural world has given us great clues as to what food helps what part of our body. Nature's living pharmacy- amazing!

 

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye.  The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye. Studies shows carrots enhance blood flow and function of the eyes. 

 

A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. Research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopene and are indeed food for the heart and blood.   

 

Grapes look like blood cells and hang in a cluster in the shape of the heart. Research shows grapes are blood and heart vitalizing food.

 

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums.  Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. Research shows walnuts help develop more than three dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.  

 

Kidney Beans help heal and maintain kidney function. And yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.  

 

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb look just like bones and target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus weakening your skeletal structure.

 

Avocados, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it helps balance hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how interesting is this; it takes exactly nine months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).  

 

Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase male sperm count and the mobility of male sperm. 

 

Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and help balance the glycemic index of diabetics.
