Healing Physical Pain

Overcoming physical pain through hypnosis is not about desensitizing, numbing, masking or managing. It is about discovering the cause of the pain, healing it, thereby eliminating the pain completely.


Pain is created by the mind and signals the brain, which then transforms the signal into a physical sensation. Pain is a signal to you that some part of your system and structure is experiencing an insult. It is important we pay attention to the pain we are experiencing and seek medical attention when injured or an existing health condition feels worse. However, alerting us is the only purpose for pain.

Physical pain due to a chronic physical condition is to alert you to be careful and not over exert yourself. Physical pain due to injury is to remind you that your body is in a healing stage. However, experiencing physical pain in an area of the body that is physically normal without injury or disorder stems from suppressed unresolved emotional hurt. This suppressed emotional hurt is living in the cells of that part of the body and signally you through pain.

Such suppressed emotions will continue to communicate to us in the form of pain until they are heard, understood and released. That is why attempting to desensitize, numb, mask or simply manage physical pain can have the adverse effect of causing the body to develop a real physical disorder or condition. Through the process of hypnosis, it is possible to discover the source of the emotional hurt causing pain, heal it, and thereby eliminate the pain completely.
